Sizzle Reel
Planning and Process

Cedric and Mazey
Some character designs I drew for my baker animation. I imagine Cedric as being a humble, down to earth and caring. Mazey is a sneaky little charmer. She gets away with a lot of things, simply because she is too adorable and Cedric is too forgiving.

Dancing Duo Storyboard
I took the video I found and roughed out what I wanted to do for my own animation. I cut back on some moves and added some things of my own to make it unique.

Leilani
My character design for my mermaid character. I wanted to change it up and give her short hair rather than the long hair usually seen on mermaids. And her colour scheme was based on the colours at dusk; very vibrant and beautiful.

Mermaid Storyboard
The planning process for my mermaid animation. I wanted to keep it simple and sweet. In the end, I made a few changes to the camera angles when discussing with my peers. Despite the changes, I was happy with the final piece; it's always good to get other people's opinions and make changes to your work to better yourself.

Poka-Dot Party 2D Layout
The setting is supposed to be in Hobson's living room, which I wanted to be very drab and boring with desaturated colours. Like Hobson himself. But then in comes Arthur, decorating his room with tacky decorations and obnoxious colours. In a sence, trying to bring colour and fun back into his father's life.

Spiderzombies Storyboard
A quick complilation of sketches when planning a Spiderman animation I did. The zombies were animated via motion capture, and I had to create a story based on their actions. It was a fun challege, however I found the vomvies rather grotesque; I found I kept making silly faces while drawing them.

Tuft's Action Shot 3D Layout
Tuft lives in a village close to a deep, dence forest. So right from the beginning, I knew he would be climbing and jumping from all sorts of trees. But I needed to figure out the specific placement of each object, how big they would be, the distance between and so on. So I set up my scene and figured out the sizing and spacing of everything in Maya.

Tuft's Action Shot Storyboard
Once I knew the layout and what action's Tuft would be preforming, I started my storyboard. I experimented with camera angles until I found exactly what I was going for. This animation in particular taught me a lot about framing and camera movements and how important they are to telling a story.
